PRE-APPOINTMENT
- Stop using any skin thinners (Vitamin A, glycolic acids, exfoliation) on the brow area 2 weeks prior to your appointment.
- Any waxing or brow shaping should be done at least 2 days before.
- If you tint your brows, tint it at least one week prior to the procedure.
- Cosmetic botox or fillers should be done 4 weeks prior or 2 weeks after. (unless you have a touch up coming up, wait till after the touch up)
- DO NOT consume alcohol, caffeine or take any blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, Niacin 48 hours before your procedure, this will cause excess bleeding and may affect your results).
- You may come in with how you normally draw in your brows so I can see what you are used to. This is especially important for clients who desire a specific brow shape. If you are open to suggestions, I am happy to help design a custom brow to personally suit you if possible while I still follow the natural shape of your brow bone or facial features.
- You may experience hypersensitivity and more pain around or during your menstrual cycle. (Avoid this time)
- We will not be able to tattoo over any blemishes, sores, and moles in or around the brow area.
MICROBLADING EYEBROW AFTER CARE
After care is crucial, it is very important to follow these instructions for the full 10 day healing period to ensure proper healing and color retention. Results will vary for all individuals and we can not guarantee your results.
- 50% of your results are based on me and 50% are based on YOU and how you take care of them!
First step in the healing procedure: - Day 1, do nothing. I will apply gel on your brows before you leave my place, which will act as a seal for the pigment. Do not get your brows wet or wash it off. If you do wash the gel off by accident or for whatever reason, then start using the ointment immediately and follow the instructions just as you would the next day.
- Starting day 2 and for the next 6 days, apply the ointment I gave you 3-5 times daily. (Just a thin layer) The eyebrows must not get wet while washing the face or taking a shower. You may shower starting day 2, but keep your showers limited to 10 mins max the first 7-10 days.
IF AND ONLY IF you have extremely oily skin, the ointment is recommended only on the 2nd day. Then any day after that, you don’t have to apply as much ointment. The oils in your skin will prevent it from drying out on its own. If you do feel they are drying out, then continue to apply ointment. You can do 1-2 times a day instead of 3-5 times a day. - IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS AVOID:
Suntanning, sunbeds, light (laser) therapy, chemical peels, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors.
You should always avoid laser treatments over the treated area during the healing period (Fraxel laser, IPL) because they can destroy the pigment and cause inflammation.
Faster fading out of pigment can happen if you use antibiotics or hormonal therapy. Always protect your eyebrows from the sun by using sun protection cream (after first 7 days). - Microblading is a process where results are best seen in 6 weeks! Please don’t judge your eyebrows immediately! Give them time to heal just as you would for any cosmetic surgery! (4-5 weeks) For all additional questions or problems, please contact me!!!
***If you lose the ointment I give you, a good substitute is coconut oil. You should have more ointment left by the time you’re done, otherwise you’re using too much.
- 50% of your results are based on me and 50% are based on YOU and how you take care of them!
WHAT TO EXPECT (MICROBLADING CONTINUED)
- DO NOT expect your brow tattoos to heal perfectly after the first session. This can be a 2 step process. It takes time. BE PATIENT during your 10 day healing process your brows will change and appear different from day to day.
- Immediately after your procedure brows will appear darker and more defined and this will last up to 2 weeks . Your brow tattoo can appear more solid, hair strokes may seem to disappear and it may look wet and painted on.
- Around days 4-5 you will experience flaking and your brows may look dry. DO NOT PICK your brows, let any dryness fall off naturally. If flakes gets picked off prematurely missing hair stokes will result and cause patchy brows which can lead to scarring.
- Your brow tattoo will take up to 4 weeks to fully heal. When the flaking comes off the hair strokes may seem faint this is because a fresh layer of skin has healed over the brow tattoo. Give your brows a few weeks and the hair strokes will become clearer. Color will continue to change on a daily basis until all healing is complete at the 4-5 week mark. This is when you can officially judge your eyebrows.
- You may experience itchiness in the brows after the 10 days for up to 2 months due to the healing process of the dermal layer.
- Not everyones hair stroke brows can heal clean and crisp. Hair strokes for oilier skin types tend to heal more solid and powdery while drier skin types tend to heal more crisp and defined. Also for those who bleed more may tend to need more touchups as the blood pushes the pigment out while we tattoo.
- The Emoji chart at the end below summarizes what was just described above.
THINGS NOT TO DO
- DO NOT expose your brows to the sun during the healing process. UV Rays can alter the pigment of your tattoo. Following the first 10 days SPF is important for the longevity your micro-pigmentation.
- DO NOT sweat excessively for 10 days. Sweat contains salt and can infect and prematurely fade your brow tattoo. Salt in the sweat may also alter the color of your tattoo. Moderate exercise is fine.
- DO NOT run direct water on your brow tattoo. This is especially important in the first few days, you do not want to wash out any pigment.
- DO NOT use Vaseline on your tattoo.
- DO NOT use any makeup, creams, exfoliants on the brows for 10 days.
- DO NOT go into sauna’s, pools, and steam rooms.
- DO NOT get massages or facials or skin treatments during the healing process.
- DO NOT go tanning, and if you do, cover your brow tattoo, UV rays can alter the color of your tattoo.
- DO not use exfoliants, retinol acids, or AHA’s on the brow area. It will fade your tattoo prematurely.
- DO NOT use laser light therapy on your brow tattoo. This can darken, lighten, and distort the pigment.
6-8 WEEK TOUCH UPS
Allow your brows a minimum of 4 weeks to heal before booking a touch up. This gives you the time to decide if you do or do not need a touch up appointment. It’s takes a full 4 weeks for the color to settle. It is your responsibility to book your touch up appointments. Please keep the high demand in mind. If your tattoo comes back too faded additional charges may apply.
- Touch ups are typically done within the first 6-8 weeks and can go up to 3 months if needed after the initial appointment.
- This can be a 2 (and sometimes even 3) step process.
- The first session is used to build shape and gain symmetry.
- The second session is used to perfect the brows and add density.
- This is a process and some clients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired result depending on their situation.
- Do not expect perfect results after the first session.
- Darker skin and oily skin women, permanent makeup will not look as bold or sharp compared to lighter, dryer skin type clients.
- Some client’s skin may have a harder time retaining pigment and may require additional sessions.
LONG TERM CARE
THERE IS NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS as everyone’s result will vary due to skin type, lifestyle and the initial 10 day care and longterm care of your brow tattoo.
- Use at least SPF 50 to protect your brows, sun exposure will cause fading and can alter the color of your tattoo.
- Do not use chemical exfoliants on the brows, this will cause the brows to fade faster.
- Do not laser your brow area (IPL etc), some lasers may change the color of the ink.
- As the tattoo fades, the strokes will get fainter and less defined.
- Maintenance is required to maintain desired results. Touchups are done on average every 9 – 24 months to maintain you brow tattoo.
- Hair stroke brows typically last 1-3 years.
LIP BLUSH PRE/POST CARE
Before your Appointment:
Your lips cannot be dry for the appointment. If they are dry we will need to reschedule and you will forfeit your deposit. You may exfoliate 3 days before your appointment to remove any dry skin. You can use a lip scrub or create your own using a little honey and brown sugar. For the week leading up to the appointment, you must moisturize your lips as much as possible (I recommend using aquaphor).
*IMPORTANT*
Cold sores are a risk of lip blush tattoo. If you have had a cold sore in the past- we advise you to go to the doctor for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure, to help avoid an outbreak.
After your Appointment:
70% of your results depend on your aftercare! So please follow accordingly:
Day 1:
Ice your lips if swelling occurs. It should go down with 24hrs.
Clean your lips every hour with the wipes that are provided to you. Then apply the ointment that is provided to you.
Day 2:
Make a soap bottle for yourself. Take an empty bottle of water, put a drop of mild soap or baby shampoo, add neutral water, and mix. Save the bottle as you will use every morning
So on Day 2, wash your lips with the soap water you made in the morning, then apply ointment every 3 hours.
Day 3-7:
Wash your lips in the morning with the soap water one time. Then apply ointment 3 times a day till peeled and healed.
Note: Your lips might get darker the next day. Then as they scab, they fade by 60% to a more natural look. Please do not pick at your lips with your teeth.
Drink through a straw and avoid spicy food for 72 hours.
For 7 days:
No make up, lotion, sweating, sports, sun-bathing/solarium, saunas, pools, and no contact to the area, such as kissing or touching with your hands to avoid infection.
For 30 days:
No tanning, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or any rejuvenating creams
After complete healing, always use sunblock to protect your eyes/lips. The Nivea stick is a good option! Buy the yellow one with 30 SPF in it.😊
During the day if lips feel dry, apply a liberal amount of ointment. Just tap on skin and do not rub in. Always use a clean Q-tip, not fingers to apply ointment to the lips area. This will reduce the risk of infection.
After lips are no longer tender to the touch they may become flaky. This is normal and is expected. Do not use any Glycolic, Hydroxy or fruit acid products on lips. Avoid direct water pressure, pools and other bodies of water, until healed. You can resume wearing lipstick once lips are healed. Redness, swelling, tenderness, dryness are all common post treatment side effects and will dissipate in a short period of time. Avoid oily, salty, acidic foods and alcohol while healing.
Lips are a muscle and may require a touch-up session to complete the process of this procedure. Lips are unpredictable. Some clients will yield very strong healed lip color. Others will only heal with slight color uptake. This will vary on an individual basis. Clients with sun damage, scar tissue (from injury or fever blisters) and clients with implants may not have strong results. Hyperpigmentation can happen on any lip client without warning. Again, if you have a history of Fever Blisters, Cold Sores or Chicken Pox, we advise you to go to the doctor or for an anti-viral medication prior to any lip procedure, to help avoid an outbreak. Follow all before and after instructions after all lip treatments. Lip retouch must be scheduled 30 to 45 days apart from initial season to help with color retention.
Lips heal in three stages: Too dark – Too light – Just right. This takes one month to happen. Please avoid any friction to lip area. Please follow the chart below as this best describes the process that your lips will go through before you achieve the final results
EYELASH ENHANCEMENT AFTER CARE
Your skin will be temporarily sensitized after the treatment and you should adhere to the following instructions for the next 10 days.
This will help avoid infection and allow time for the skin to recover.
If you apply makeup during the next 5 days following your treatment, you do so entirely at your own risk.
Healing can take up to 10 days and it is perfectly normal for small scabbing to appear on the treated area. These should be allowed to fall off naturally over a period of a few days.
After the treatment; It is also normal for there to be fading of the color during the first 2 weeks and patchy sections, as the skin is still healing and the pigment will return to the surface in about 30 days. The outcome will be subtle. This IS NOT eyeliner tattoo, it is Eyelash Enhancement. A soft shadowed enhancement to your lash line to create the illusion of fuller lashes. This will not replace the use of eyeliner but instead give you a natural eye enhancement.
Instructions
- For the 10 days following the tattoo procedure, wash the site gently and apply ointment 2 times per day
- With eyes closed wash the site gently with gentle soap and warm water using your hands only. (baby shampoo is ideal)
- Blot the area dry. Do not rub with a towel.
- With eyes closed massage ointment in gently for 10 seconds and then gently blot off the excess goo. Be careful to not get any ointment in the eyes as it will burn.
- After blotting, the area should not be oily or greasy to the touch. Allow the skin to breathe.
- Sleep slightly elevated for the first few nights to reduce swelling.
Wait 6 weeks for full healing prior to deciding if you require a touch up. Colour will fade 30-40%. Most do not require one however if you feel you would benefit from an additional session please feel free to book a touch up appointment.
